LITTLE FREE LIBRARY NEEDS A NEW HOME
Rose Memorial Library will be debuting a new mobile Little Free Library out in the community thanks to the generosity of community members, Ed and Nancy Lenore!
The Little Free Library will be moving locations every 4-6 months. The host locations need to be on flat ground and an area that sees a decent amount of foot traffic is preferable. If you are interested in potentially hosting a Little Free Library at your Stony Point or Tomkins Cove home or business, please fill out this form: https://forms.office.com/r/bHta7KZZs9
NEW DISCOVERY KITS
Our new Discovery Kits are ready to be checked out. Each bag comes loaded with books and activity items for kids to explore a new idea or hobby! We have 10 themes…
It’s back! Decorate a pumpkin to look like your favorite book character! Registration is required on our online events calendar to claim a foam pumpkin. Return it to the library by October 11th so we can put it on display. Library staff will pick our top 5 favorites, and patrons will vote on the final winner.
STONY POINT FALL FEST
We’ll be at the annual Stony Point Fall Fest and Family Fun Day, presented by PAL, on Saturday Sept. 30 at Kirkbridge Hall from 10am – 4pm. Come enjoy games, food and vendors and say hello to Library staff! In honor of Library Card Sign Up Month we have goodies for kids who register for their very first Library card! We’ll also have info on our programs and services as well as a fun craft for the kids to do!
All programs take place outdoors at Vincent Clark Park, weather permitting
This 45 minute outdoor program uses live music to aid in childhood development. It’s well known that introducing music early helps cognitive development, social, emotional and motor skills as well as language development. Not to mention bonding time with your family, and we think that’s the most important part!
Join the Rose Memorial Library bookclub! We meet once a month on a Saturday and enjoy a lively discussion of a book over pastries and coffee. New members are always welcome.
Our September book is Zero Days by Ruth Ware – an adrenaline-fueled thriller that combines Mr. and Mrs. Smith with The Fugitive about a woman in a race against time to clear her name and find her husband’s murderer.
Join us for a leisurely stroll in Rockland and get to know the local flora & fauna of the area. We will explore medicinal, culinary and other possibilities for what’s growing in our backyard. Location will be emailed to registered participants.
