Follow along with us as we commemorate this milestone. We will be compiling historic photos, asking you to share your Library stories with us, hosting special programs and an official anniversary party in the Fall. You’re invited! These past 75 years the Library has been the cornerstone in our community for lifelong learning and discovery. It has served as a sanctuary for book lovers and fostered a love of reading in our kids. And as you have surely seen, we have evolved way beyond books. Access to e-books, audiobooks, online databases, and digital resources that cater to diverse interests are just a few of the changes. Our inclusive programs have brought us all together. We’ve shared so many memories through our programs – book clubs, storytimes, craft classes, art exhibitions, our annual summer reading program and countless more. We have a great line up of programs already in the works for 2024 to continue our tradition of unique, high-quality events. Looking ahead, our anniversary reminds us that the Library, and access to books and information, are as relevant today as ever. We’ll continue to embrace change, new technologies, and expand our services to meet the diverse needs of Stony Point. Thank you for the last 75 years and hope you’ll join us in our next chapter! Coffee and pastries provided. Grab a copy using our online catalog. (This title is also available as an ebook). In the summer of 1943, Eva Brunner is taking photographs of Nazi-looted art hidden in the salt mines of the Austrian hinterland. Across the ocean in Connecticut, Josephine Evans is working as a humble typist at the Yale Art Gallery. When both women are called to Italy to contribute to the war effort, neither imagines she will hold the fate of some of the world’s greatest masterpieces torn from the Uffizi Galleries and other Florentine art collections in her hands. But as Italy turns from ally to enemy and Hitler’s plan to destroy irreplaceable monuments and works of art becomes frighteningly clear, each woman’s race against the clock—and against one another—might demand more than they were prepared to give. The Last Masterpiece takes readers on a heart-pumping adventure up the Italian peninsula. Inspired by the incredible true story of the Monuments Women, the Fifth Army WACs, and the looted Florentine art collections during World War II, the latest historical novel by USA Today bestselling author and art historian Laura Morelli plunges readers into the heart of war-torn Italy. WINTER BOTANICAL LUMINARIESCreate a winter-themed paper lantern and use pressed botanicals to decorate it.
