
Kickoff Event: Summer Celebration & Pop-Up Marketplace
Get ready for a big day of family-friendly fun to kick off Rose Memorial Library’s 2025 Summer Reading program. This year’s theme – Color Our World! – invites you to immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of activities and experiences that will brighten your day and spark your creativity.
This is a FREE community event featuring live entertainment, food trucks, a variety of vendors to shop from, raffles, crafts, games, splash pad and more.
- Food trucks: Chomped, Ted’s Burgers and Dogs, The Coffee Chick, Planet Smoothie featuring Cold Stone Creamery
- Live music and DJ set from Craig and Ryan of “The Uncanny Earworms”
- Free face painting

Summer Reading for Kids
Embark on a journey of art and creativity – and don’t be afraid to get messy along the way!
Come in and grab a copy of our “Books for Younger Readers” booklist. Keep track of your reading through the summer to win Book Bucks that you can use to buy awesome toys and prizes at the Library’s “store”. Book reporting will start the week of June 30 and run through the first week of August.
And join us for epic programs!

Summer Reading for Teens
Come in and grab a copy of our “Books for Middle and Upper Elementary Readers” booklist.
While your here, pick up your gameboard – your key to winning gift certificates. Sign up for programs and consider becoming a volunteer!
And save the date for a Tween/Teen Summer Hangout: Summer Edition – date TBD.
Summer Reading for Adults
Adults can join in on the fun, too! This year we have a great line-up of programs and activities that can win you prizes.
Adult Prize Categories:
- Bookmark Design Contest (best bookmark art as selected by RML staff)
- Avid Reader Award (most books read / book review slips submitted)
- Program Attendance Winner (person who attends the most programs. Parents who accompany their kids/family to Youth programs are also eligible)
- First Time Library Card Holder (for any adult that gets a new Stony Point library card between June – August…Welcome to the community!)
- Summer Reading BINGO (winner selected at random from returned BINGO sheets)
Winner in each category will receive a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE to a local restaurant!
